Debt chasing letter from BSB on behalf of Igloo adding admin cost
I've just received a letter from Barratt Smith Brown saying I owe Igloo money (£35). It must be from my taking over the account in May 2020 before I switched to my old supplier. The letter states that as I have not settled my account they've added £50 admin fee making the total £85! This is the first I heard of any debt. I'd assumed (possibly wrongly) that the debt had been passed to the new supplier (this happened last time I moved). I've had no notice in two years of any debt.

Welcome to the forum.
Did you get a final bill when you switched suppliers?
It is not normal that a debt will be passed to a new supplier. Exception would be a prepaid meter where an existing debt can be moved to the new supplier if they agree.1 -
Neither debts nor credits are normally transferred when you switch suppliers. Did you supply final reads on exit?No free lunch, and no free laptop
