Smart Meter Replacements when it does not work

My energy provider refuses to replace the Smart Meter I inherited when I bought the property last year. They have directed me to a website of their preferred supplier to purchase one at over £50.00 !!!!!!!

I am guessing that you mean the In Home Display (IHD) and not the smart meter, as smart meters are not user replicable. If you do mean the IHD then yes, they are under no obligation to provide you with one.

There are apps you can use which will enable you to see the data from the Smart Meter itself - a lot of posters here recommend Bright.

  • Hi,
yes Matt is correct, if you wish to record your usage and cost then set up a wee spreadsheet, take daily/weekly/monthly readings, and input to spreadsheet, allows you to monitor  usage and cost.
