UKPC LTD - witness statement submitted -

Hi firstly, huge thanks for all the help getting me to this stage. UKPC filed for court, I successfully moved the case to my local court, filed my defence and submitted my witness statement to the court and copy to their legal team DCBL. I had expected to receive their witness statement by the deadline but haven’t received anything from them - should I have? Or should I contact the court?

If the Court directions said that the parties must file and serve their WS not later 14 days before the hearing date (or by a specified date with no hearing date yet listed), and you have done that, you have complied with the directions, and have nothing to worry about.

DCB Legal's failure to meet the deadline is their problem, not yours. It may arrive late, or perhaps not at all if they are intending to discontinue, as often happens in properly defended cases.

No need to contact anyone, let them stew.

But a quick call to the court a day before the hearing would be good.

DCBLegal normally discontinue these cases so maybe they have.  Did you check your email junk?

I thought I'd draw your attention to this fairly recent thread which you might have not yet seen. You must keep going through all the necessary court procedure phases, but the hope is that your case will follow the same pattern as all those detailed in the thread.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
