Daily charges for electricity and gas

I understand why the charge for the actual gas and electricity has increased but can anyone explain why the daily charge has also increased by more than 100%?

You might want to do a search on the forum on "standing charges" - it's been covered in multiple threads in the past year.
On the electricity SC though - a good chunk of the increase is down to the cost of the SOLR process for the failed suppliers over the past few years.
