@BarnOwl2 - I'm with OVO and I suspect that you are looking at the amounts given under 'Your bill at a glance' in the 'Your OVO energy bill' email(s). If so, the amount shown at 'We've charged you' is based on your usage, but reduced by the Energy Bill Support Scheme £66/67. The refund to your bank account is included in the 'You've paid' amount. This is made clear if you look at the PDF bill(s) attached to the email(s).

I think I’ve worked it out…. And I’m  grateful for the replies.  Yes, it’s confusing with the credit being applied to the summary of charges, and the refunds to my bank account.  I do think OVO could of simplified the process by just deducting the energy payment from energy used, and not refund the money back to my bank, only to then deduct the monies owed for the energy used, from my credit balance…..  C’est la vie!!

Sorry this doesn't answer your question, but I got billed 3 separate amounts in one day for gas yesterday, but my supplier failed to take the direct debit payment at the beginning of the month like they should have done, so I guess I am winning for now.  I think they make it up as they go along.

I really do not understand the OVO billing system.
I am thinking they have double-accounted ?? leastways without the alterntive fuel payment the total charges would normally shows the figure down the bottom which on this occasion is £49.68....... this time it shows £144 as an incoming figure as it takes account of the £200.
If I did this simply it would be 150+200+67+108 = 525 total 'credit'  less fuel used and refunds 200+67+112 = 379
one from the other leaves 146 ....NOT 128!!

how do they manage to claw  18 from the account???

Can anyone make sense?? ON the premise of doing the sums as they have done each month my starting /closing balance wuld have dropped this month by around £5 as I used a little more than normal ie £112 worth rather than £108

    The last bill shows:

Starting balance 14 Jan£150.95 in credit
    Total charges £144.80 in
    Refunds 16 Jan£67.00 out
    Direct Debit 16 Jan£108.00 in
Closing balance 13 Feb£336.75 in credit

Standing charge 31 days at 24.69p per day £7.65

Energy use charge 575.74 kWh at 18.98p £109.28

    Interest Reward                              -£0.55
    VAT 5% of £116.38                        £5.82
    Energy Bill Support Scheme -£67.00
Alternative Fuel Payment funded by HM Government -£200.00
    Total Credit                                                              £144.80 in

ON the bill it shows this

    Cost of electricity £112.20
    Interest Reward -£1.08
    VAT 5% of £111.12 £5.56
    Energy Bill Support Scheme -£67.00

This is January's energy usage above, and February's below? (I'm guessing due to you have two different energy quotes, interest earnings, DDRs, and £67 refunds). If so, I can't see the Standing Charge for February anywhere in the below figures, and can you confirm if the £200 was actually refunded in January or February please as it's not exactly clear to me.

AFP £200 would have been Feb at the earliest, if that's what you're referring to.
