Credit file query

Over 6 years ago I had a CCJ for a debt with Welsh Water.  This has now dropped off my credit report.  At the time they set up a separate account to manage my ongoing usage and payments and kept the account with the CCJ debt stand alone.  My ongoing account is always in credit as I pay more, they have recently sent me out a check for nearly £300 due to this.  The CCJ account has about £240 remaining on it (I needed the money to pay my gas bill before anyone makes the remark I should have paid off my CCJ).  On my credit file my welsh water account is showing as 6 months late with the CCJ debt on it.  My question really is should they not have my ongoing account on there and not my CCJ account? I know the CCJ has dropped off now, but prior to this my credit score was doubly affected by this debt being shown as a CCJ and over 6 months late.  Should it not have been one or the other?

Thank you for any insight
