Inability to chose cookies

I have recently been struck by the number of organisations who do not let you “chose cookies”. Does anyone know how to get round this? Thanks

    Tesco have doughnuts you can choose flavours but you have to.use the supplied tongs.

    Yes you can choose to block cookies but then you can't go on the site. It's their site their rules

    I use duckduckgo privacy essentials as add on with Firefox, which once set opts out of any non-essential cookies and clears up behind you
