Is the sealant round the edges (inside and out) in good condition both visually and by looking for drafts? If it is cracked or missing then raking out and redoing is around £20 for sealant, sealant gun and raking knife and a couple of hour job internally, externally depends on access.

Is there any draft from under skirting boards on the same wall that could be closed with sealant or chaulk?

Do you have thick thermal curtains or can you get thermal liners to add to them?

How old are they, if the glass panel has blown it will be less effective but a window doctor could replace the panels only if the frame is ok.

If the sealed units are blown, replacing with triple glazed (assuming they are not already) will help to reduce the noise slightly. Won't make a huge difference on the heat loss though, nor will it be cheap.
A low cost solution might be one of these secondary glazing systems (thinking, the polycarb sheet & magnetic strips).

    Hi OP
Two solutions, first relatively cheap. Get some really heavy-duty curtains and have them longer than the doors. Downside, cant really close day time

2nd opt - get a decent new door and possibly not sliding but door and side panels

    Thanks

Some sources say up to 50%. I'm no expert, but my gut feeling is that the dfference must be noticeable.

What about draught excluder tape? I fitted some to a couple of older pvcu windows and the difference it made was amazing. The noise from traffic disappeared completely and you can no longer feel a draught when you hold your hand up against the frames.

    This stuff

It's sealant you need but also how to use it.

Your photo looks like the door opens outwards

I was assuming you meant french door on a Juliet balcony and opening inwards

I've not heard of a patio at first floor level

Yes but the product isn't all the problem applying is more important.

You could use a calk sealant if it's indoors but the same applies regarding application.

Calk is easier to remove if you make a mess
