DCB Legal Letter of Claim Help

Hello there,

I have received a Letter of Claim from DCB Legal and only have one day left to reply. They are requesting £160 on behalf of UK Parking Limited for parking in a disabled bay without a blue badge. The driver doesn’t own a blue badge, but there was a child in the vehicle at the time with a disability. The PCN was originally issued in February 2018.

I have been advised this is difficult to contest in court. I just feel it is such a large amount to pay for a carpark that is free to park in.

Can anyone help? Is it worth contesting or should this be paid at this point? I am very worried about it.

your help is much appreciated!

Have you received a letter of/before claim or have you received a N1 claim form from CCBC at Northampton?  If it is a letter from DCB Legal does it give you 14 days or 30 days to respond/pay?  All the advice you need is, anyway, held in the NEWBIE sticky on the front page of the forum.  If it is a claim form, what is the date of issue?

No you don't. Reply to it when you are ready, if it is not an actual claim form.

Why not just read the LBC section of the NEWBIES FAQS thread and do what is advised?

"I have been advised this is difficult to contest in court."

Wrong. Dead easy - and we always win.

Who on earth told you that meritless parking claims from poxy UKPC & DCBLegal are hard to defend?

    The useless CAB?

    Surely not a solicitor?

    Clueless advice.

Can I just clarify, we are talking about UKPC here, not UK Parking Ltd ?

Frome the date of the ticket, it sounds like yet another UKPC rubbish claim

Whoever told you it is difficult to contest is living in cloud cuckoo land

And please also clarify that the letter from DCBL states very clearly that you have 30 days to respond ... does it really say you have only one day left to respond.?

DCBL are attempting to scam you adding £60, the courts don't like fakers

No need to be worried, this forum deals with money scammers every day of the week

    hi all,

    thank you for your replies!

it is definitely a letter of claim, and I was given 30 days to respond, tomorrow being the 30th day. I was previously trying to get help on Facebook forums but that is where I was told that it would be hard to contest due to the nature of the PCN.

so although I had 30 days I have found this forum on the 29th day. My own fault really.

DCB are acting on behalf of UK Parking Control Limited, which I assume must be UKPC.

do I still have time to reply to this and can I do this via the DCB website?

i will also look at the threats you have suggested.

    thank you!

    Just email the greedy toads.

Obviously (like everything you need) their email address is on this forum, for the sake of a quick search.

Stat away from Faceache groups. One isn't bad. Most are clueless.
