Money left to grandchildren in "trust" - what exactly do we have to do as executors?

Exactly - could be one person or split between several.

Residual beneficiaries have the right to see the estate accounts - so there can be some check on what you’ve done but they may not ask to.

Ok. The only residuals are me and my sister and we are both executors so have seen every step through so far :-)
