Notifying address change during 6 year "Statute Barred" period?

Hi All,
I am almost at the end of a very long road to being debt free - it feels like a lifetime !!!
This is a bit of a 'technicality' question. Last July Cabot confirmed (over the phone) that my last outstanding debt was actually unenforceable and they have not contacted me since. As I understand it, if I do not make payments or 'acknowledge' the debt for the next six years it will be considered as 'Statute Barred'.
I have recently moved, and am not sure if notifying them of the new address is considered an 'acknowledge'? I only want to update the address just so any possible future correspondence/statements from them doesn't go to my old address, but I also would rather not reset the 6 years period.
If someone has experience of this could they advise me? Many thanks in advance for your help ;o)

Depends how the letter was worded, I actually doubt you will hear from them again to be honest.
Debt collectors/purchasers, will occasionally run address searches if they haven`t had contact from you in a while, if they want to write to you, I wouldn't bother, but its up to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I assume that you’ll have a post redirection in place so if they want to get in touch with you before the SB runs out their letter will get to you.0
