PCN from LBRUT Council with incorrect contravention listed

Hi,
Hoping I can get some advice on likely success of a formal appeal.
I received a ticket when partially parked on double yellow lines. However the contravention listed on the PCN, was that I was in resident parking area without displaying a permit (which was incorrect as I was just outside the resident parking zone). There is no mention of double yellow lines in the parking ticket, apart from photographic evidence.
I have already used the informal appeal where I have provided evidence to show I was not within the resident parking zone, which they acknowledged but then said the PCN was issued for the double yellow lines.
I am thinking this can be successfully appealed on a technicality, do people agree?
Thank you in advance!

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there but please note that a Hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway Gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering, and post a new thread; here's your link:Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

i see a win based on wrong contravention code/contravention did not occur.
Ask the experts on pepipoo.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
