Our flight from Cardiff to Alicante on 1/1/23 was cancelled as we were waiting at the boarding gate. Apparently this was due to a broken emergency chute. We decided to take the option of being transported to Gatwick and flying to Valencia then transported by coach to our original destination of Alicante. (Vueling couldn’t guarantee a flight from Cardiff the following day. ) We arrived at Alicante airport 9.5 hours later than scheduled, at 1.30am. We asked about food at check in and were told that they were BA staff and knew nothing. They suggested buying food and keeping the receipt. We tried 7 attempts to register the claim on line but failed because the website didn’t allow us to progress further. We phoned Vueling but despite a customer service member taking us through, step by step, the system failed. We were told to phone back, which we did, but the second customer service staff member couldn’t help as there were IT issues. We are at a loss as to know what to do next. Any suggestions?
