We have recently moved into a new home and have to submit our electric meter readings we have a Radio telemeter series K. However we have 5 different meter reading which we have no idea what each one means. Reading 3 doesn’t have any numbers but the rest all have a value. Could anyone please advise?

I wonder if the property was on an old Heatwise tariff. This may help, or perhaps not :

Are you able to contact the previous occupier and ask what tariff they were on? Have you continued with the same supplier or switched?

Even if you are now being billed based on only 2 rates - chances are your supplier was perhaps aggregating some of the readings.  Or they might not even be accumulating anymore.

My latest E10 smart meter has at least 4 rate registers - but only uses 2.

I used to be on a Heatwise tariff - it actually at one point used 2 meters - one radio for heating and hot water - one day/night for other house supplies.  And that even had a boost mode from a switch in the kitchen - to turn on just the hot water - from the switched meter - used to be a different rate.

So my bill had 4 readings - day / night for ring main etc - and offpeak heatwise / boost - from second - and 2 standing charges.

A relative had an SP equivalent - but that was all in one meter when looked - and did everything - but he only had 3 different tariff rates. There are lots of regional variations - like old EMEB Heatwise, Liverpool area had an equivalent 3 tariff system etc.

There are other posts here - for people with suppliers using this meter on an actual E7 - so do a search and see if that helps.  But a quick read seems to come up with different answers.

But suggest you could check with the suppliers help team - or perhaps the vendor - if you have contact details - you should maybe have by now received communication from them as the new owner (you inherit the supplier - if not the exact tariff - as a rule when move in ) - and made sure they had old vendors final / your initial day 1 readings.

If as likely - you are on a time of use (E7/E10 or older often regional legacy) always do a few spot check - based on taking readings from all registers - day and night - to see when each meter tariff accumulating.   And then compare with first bill.

It's very important you know which is which - in case you are one of the small percentage where it goes wrong - to check bills for any time of use tariff - as not all meters are the same - and rates have been swapped when new suppliers take over - so billed at wrong rates - in a few instances.

Not sure that should be the case.

Cannot remember the details - and pricing - but it was certainly not abnormal in the past.

So much so when many were moved from E7/E10 etc to SR - Ofgem insisted suppliers only charged one SC - irrespective of metering.

    See

"Ofgem has taken action over suppliers’ compliance with the obligation to offer certain single rate tariffs to customers with restricted meters.

Ofgem has concluded compliance engagement with four suppliers in relation to Standard Licence Condition (“SLC”) 22G. This requires all suppliers with more than 50,000 customers (“Relevant Suppliers”) to offer Relevant Tariffs1 to customers with Restricted Meter Infrastructure2 (RMI) upon request, without charging multiple standing charges if a customer has multiple meters."
