I've no idea why so many people seem scared to add more paragraph numbers, trying to shoe-horn all sorts of points in and randomly not add any numbers and just place it all under 'paragraph 3'?

The Template Defence says to add more paras if you need to (doesn't it?) and obviously you just re-number the rest.

This is your defence.  Your own relevant paragraph numbering.  Take ownership of your document and make the numbering make sense.

"No prior correspondence was sent by the claimant (Civil Enforcement Limited) or their client  (private carparking operator). "

Not sure what "their client" refers to.

Thanks all - re-aligned the defence and numbered accordingly.

Sorry an oversight on my behalf on adding para numbers - but all clear now.

@1505grandad - I think CEL are not the car park operator but rather chasing the claim on behalf of the operator? In any case, to avoid confusion, I have reworded that bit to "No prior correspondence was sent by the claimant (Civil Enforcement Limited)"

    Cheers

That's incorrect.  CEL are the parking firm.

    Thanks all.

Email sent to CCBCAQ and auto response received 'Thank you for emailing the County Court Business Centre, please accept this as a receipt of your email'.

Do I take this as the defence being filed or should I call and follow up? Conscious deadline to submit was 4pm today.

In the meantime I'll need to brush up on guidance on next steps and start preparing.

So long as you have that Auto-reply, you should be fine, it might take a couple of days for your MCOL status to be updated.

    OK, good!

And the next letters are covered by the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread first post, do no need to ask us what happens next of about the first letter/form to arrive.

See you at WS and evidence stage - and more urgently, in a few weeks when the DLUHC Public Consultation opens.  As discussed all over the forum - we NEED people like you to respond to the Government.
