Not sure if I'm reading this correctly but it appears that British Gas have their '+ & -' the wrong way round. I was £620.31 in credit, electric was £333.18 - so balance should be £287.13 in credit. They seem to have added the £620 credit as a debt to the £333 to make £953.49!! I want to contact BG about this but their 'help' line appears to only be open Mon-Fri 9-5.
Or am I missing something here??

Do you have gas as well?
  • Yes, but that has been billed already - see below

It looks like the bill is saying that there was an adjustment of £620.31 on 15th December, which looks like they could have paid that credit back to you somehow. As that is less than 3-5 days ago, it could be that the BACs on that hasn't come through yet?

Good point, yes it says 'adjustment'. I guess I'll wait to see where that adjustment has gone. Bit weird that they give back with one hand and take with the other (if that is the case), rather than just deducting from the £620 credit balance.

Anyway, thanks for your replies :)
