Good news, sort of from EDF Re price increases n January (the first I think)

Good morning
Got a letter from EDF re price increases in Jan 2023
Based on our avg usage the combine increase is about 30 quid for gas and electric and that is a relief. They have another account that is very slightly cheaper by about 15 quid a year so not worth the time/effort
I was pleasantly surprised but still a bit worried re bills as its been and is very cold here in London and heating on all day and night but turned down massively when we are in bed. Though we are fortunate to have saved/planned for cost of living increases etc we do worry and we worry about those, especially vulnerable being very cold.
Our bill is close to 400 a month and we are not planning on increasing that as we are being careful with heating.
We are on EDF, variable rates like many and plan to stay on that until things improve.
(We are getting 60 pounds a month from EDF rebate as like all customers but I think that stops in about 3 months)
Thanks
PS: I do recall reading an MSE thread that bills would go up slightly in Jan and I asked questions but TBH I was not convinced - this is sort of good news.

Is there any reason that you didn't believe the official post or any mention of it?0

Hi
Yes, I'm cynical and felt it was too good to be true and or I was misreading it ie doubting myself. I like to be very honest
and douvting stuff at times is just the way I am.
Have a nice weekend
