Letter Before Claim - Confused

Hi all,

Had a Letter Before Claim letter arrive today (pic attached with details obscured) with reply form and financial statement form.  Having read all the Newbie thread I'm slightly confused to be honest.

The Letter Before Claim is from CST Law but states they are instructed by Euro Car Parks.  Is this a real LBC or am I right in thinking it can only be sent by Euro Car Parks and this is just another attempt at intimidation to get me to pay?  Or do I need to go down the SAR route (as per Newbies thread).

Many thanks in advance.

I suppose on the back it tells you to pay DRP ???
  • It looks like a LBC but I think @Grizebeck knows if these lead to court claims or are just hot air.

    Thank you all,

Would I be best advised to proceed with SAR even though it's hot air and bluster?

Yes, the response to a SAR will come in handy whatever happens.

So I put in a SAR request with Euro Car Parks, who responded with a document detailing that I need to provide proof of identity and ownership of vehicle.

I responded with a copy of a utility bill but have no proof of ownership (such as a V5C) as the car is leased through work.

They've no responded saying as I've not sent sufficient information, under GDPR they can't release any information.

Reluctant to send photo ID, which is something they're requesting. Also not sure how I can prove ownership of something I don't own.

    Any thoughts/guidance would be appreciated?

do you need to provide ownership for a SAR?

After all it's personal information that relates to you.

Copy of the car lease agreement wouldn't do any harm at this stage.  And warn them you will report them to the ICO if they continue to make it impossible to achieve your SAR rights.
