I was a long-standing Clydesdale customer for many years, submitted a complaint and left after it was resolved. Several years later I then tried to apply for a Virgin account, couldn't register on-line and was told I needed to phone. I called and was asked in the phonecall about the loan I had submitted the complaint about. Being unhappy about this I submitted a SAR and received bank statements going back to the 90s.

When I was looking at mortgages earlier this year, I originally was looking at Halifax and, when talking to their mortgage advisor they were asking me about my previous current account I had with them and why I closed it, did I want to open another one etc etc. That was an account I closed in 2006.
