District Enforcement Ltd

My daughter parked in the space that she has a valid permit for after a long night shift as a student nurse looking after sick children. As you can imagine she was extremely tired and in her rush to get to sleep she forgot to place the parking permit on her windscreen. When  her flatmate noticed the officer hanging around her car he went out and spoke to her and explained that she had a valid permit which she had paid £300 for. He then proceeded to show her the permit which was visible in the centre console of the car. It was clearly obvious that this permit was for the space that she had parked in. Despite this she still went on to ticket the car with a £60 fine which my daughter is unable to pay. She is extremely distraught about this ticket and it has caused undue stress as she is unable to pay it being a student and already having used all of her savings to pay for the permit. They have sent her a standard letter saying that she had no permit but this is not the case as it was shown to the enforcer at the time of ticketing. Despite appealing they have rejected this and state that it would be a gross injustice for her not to pay a fine but we feel that it is also an injustice for them not to have taken into account that she does have a valid permit which was shown to them at the time.  Do we just suck it up or what option do we have ?

Wow that was nice but sadly naive of the flatmate.  Obviously a notoriously aggressive ex-clamper firm like District Enforcement will ALWAYS issue a parking charge.

This is how such bullyboys make money.

There will be more PCNs.  In our experience, this is what DE do to residents and genuine patrons of car parks.  She is their target.

Not sure why anyone opts to live where District Enforcement infest the car park? I'd have told my Uni age kids to avoid that residential place like the plague, the minute I saw the signs!

If she had no choice but to live there (the only nurses accommodation?), she must secure her permit permanently with Blutack, as anyone is advised to do in any permit or pay & display private car park.  Stick it down.

    PRETTY MUCH NAIL IT DOWN!!

Anyway, it's a bog standard IPC firm.  There was NEVER an appeal system. Same advice as the PCM thread next/near to yours on the thread list now.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
