How soon after the switch do HSBC pay the £200 payment (£1500 has been paid into the a/c) ?

I was looking at this earlier. I'm pretty sure I read within 20 days.  They seem to have a rep for being slow to open the account in the first place. How long did yours take from app to open?

Applied on the Sunday and the account was opened next day
