14 day cool off on ISA transfer

I requested Darlington BS to transfer my Cash ISA many weeks ago. I have today received confirmation of this (14 Nov) dated 27 October. The slow delivery was due to the fact that insufficient postage was applied to the letter and I was asked to pay the difference. Consequently it has taken 18 days to arrive.
Since requesting this transfer interest rates have risen significantly and there are better options available. I now wish to cancel this without penalty but have not been given the 14 day cooling off period under the Darlington BS T&C's due to their mistake on the postage.
I have raised this issue with them and I have proof from the PO of lack of full postage.
Where do I stand with this if they refuse to cancel?

14 day cooling off periods tend to apply from account opening rather than after transfers, so if you opened an account and read the Ts & Cs then there was nothing stopping you from contacting them to cancel it within the 14 days?
