Can't switch from Starling to Lloyds

Tried to take switching offer from Lloyds but comes up saying can't switch from that account.
Anyone else had switching issues  from Starting   or to Lloyds?

A fee posts saying Lloyds are having issues with switches.

I personally would keep the Starling account, far better app than Lloyds, and very good for overseas travel
  • For me personally I now find Starling useless.
I need to pay cash in, and now I've hit the very low limit of £1000 PA I then get charged for putting money into my account.
I never use a debit card for payment, I only use cashback credit cards that also have no fees abroad.

You can contact the switching support team directly on 0345 6049956 during daytime hours Mon to Fri.  They may do the switch for you over the phone, depending on the nature of the issue.

I spoke to Lloyds and they said Starling say the account is not suitable for switchig.

Starling is a part of CASS so there should be no reason why you can't switch it to Lloyds - are you sure you're using the details for the main Starling account, and not a secondary account or a savings pot? Otherwise, the other reasons why switches fail is when the account details don't match - is your name on both accounts spelt exactly the same, are your addresses details the same on both accounts, and did you provide your debit card number to Lloyds?
  • I had the same problem, the issue was my Starling € account.  I closed that  via the Starling app so I only had the £ account and that now appears to be going through ok.

Yes, you can't have the Starling Bank euro account without having their GBP account, so you would need to close the euro account before closing/switching the GBP account.
