Carer's Allowance (Ending Claim)

Hi,

I reported a "change of circumstances" via the online form the day after I ceased to be a carer for the person concerned. This was a week after my last payment. I had an email response stating that I didn't need to do anything else but my bank is showing a payment due to go in on Monday. Surely this cannot be right? Are they just really slow about dealing with change of circumstances? I'm going to put the money aside for the inevitable but it seems crazy to take this long to cease payments.

    Yes.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Is it not paid a month behind.
No. If paid every 4 weeks it’s paid 3 weeks in arrears and 1 week in advance. It’s not paid monthly.
It can be paid weekly but can’t remember if this is in arrears or advance.
