We are having our front garden dug up to make space for a drive there seems to be some virgin media cables running into the house from the pavement through the garden and they need taking out or repositioning. I have spoken to virgin media twice to explain the situation they have been totally useless.

We do not have an account with virgin media. What can we do?

Do you use Virgin Media services?   If not, I would just rip them out.

Before ripping things out you need to ensure you do not create a problem for yourself.I

f by your actions you create a problem for other users you could be held liable.

I would particularly give them a date when you intend work to start.

Just cut them. If you or anyone else wants to go with Virgin in the future, they'll come and replace the cable.

When I had my drive done the guys that did it just channelled the Virgin cables under the drive. No disruption to the BB either when they did it, I know you don't use Virgin, but, it gives you choices for the future or, if you sell it, it's another feature for the estate agent to push. It's pointless vandalising them.

My original installation was burried uner the edge of the drive - my wife duly cut through the cable when gardening. When they replaced it was put into a duct, I later concreted part to make an additional parking space.and had no difficulty routing it.

Intentionally ripping it up could very easily result in your paying for repair to any equipmment that was damaged.

Would you just rip out a gas pipe just because you were all electric?
