Your question doesn't make sense... They would need to earn the same amount..
  • Oh I think I understand.  Do you mean how much would they have to earn before tax and NI?

According to this site https://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/lifestyle.php - which is not guaranteed to be entirely accurate - £2952.21 per month.

what would the take home pay be if somebody had a take home pay of £2318.90 a 4/week month when working excluding council tax. What would they have to earn for this take home pay with taxes on top?

I assume they mean how much would someone have to earn gross in order to have a net income of £2318.90/month.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

I suspect the op means what salary would be needed to get £2318.90 month in net pay.

But there are so many variables it's impossible to answer.

Country of residence for tax purposes
    Level of pension contributions
    Method of pension contributions
    Liability for student loan deduction
    Liable to NI or not?
Any additional tax complications (Blind Persons Allowance, Marriage Allowance etc)

Thanks both. I read it several times and couldn't get my head round the question at all. It's been a long day, maybe that's why.

I think OP means what would the Gross salary have to be to produce £2318pm net.

Based on a standard personal allowance, 20% basic rate income tax and no additional deductions or allowances it would be roughly £35408 pa and even more if the benefits are paid 4 weekly as that would be 13 payment periods in a year rather than 12 on which most salary calculators are based.

      Quite (in net terms).

But it's not an either / or situation.

Someone can work and receive PIP.
Someone can work and receive Carers Allowance.
Someone can work and receive UC.
Someone can work and receive the State Pension.
Someone can work and receive Child Benefit.
      Etc, etc

(I've reported the thread as not money saving)
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.
  • Thank you everybody for the very quick responses.
