Help naming/buying this car indicator part

256 Posts

Hi there - hope that this is the most appropriate forum for this query (rather than the tech one).
My Volvo V50 indicator has been playing up, so I took apart the stalk and note that there are two tiny contacts that move between the terminals - one for the indicators and one for temporary flashing of the main beams.
As per picture 7 of this:
AWD - Turn Signal Switch Repair (brickboard.com)
The two contacts are pretty tiny (about 5mm square) and look like the head of a culinary fork, with three tiny prongs.
I noted that one of the prongs on the indicator contact had snapped off.
Does anyone know what they are technically called, so I can find out where/if I can buy a replacement?
I really want to avoid buying a whole new stalk, when all I need is a tiny piece of metal.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Have you asked on that forum or the British equivalent - https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/index.php ?
Annoying, given that the piece of metal probably costs a few pence.
I have also asked on the forum, that you suggested, and unfortunately got the same answer as you suggested - i.e. have to buy the whole thing.
Interestingly, I managed to get the indicators fully working again by wrapping a piece of foil around the broken prong.
Fine, for the time being, until that inevitably fails.
Anyone need a Fabia stalk without the speed limiter buttons?
