Has your Apple / Samsung / Fitbit / Garmin / <other> watch given you "third degree burns"?

The funny thing is, if I had read that before about May/June, I would've thought what a load of nonsense. Someone wanting to get an article made about them or whatever.
But around May/June, I had the exact same thing. Ok the guy in the article I believe had an Active Watch 2 whereas I have a Galaxy Watch 3 but yeah - same marking, same place, right under where the watch sits.
At the time I put it down to water, but even at that it didn't make sense to me. See I'll wear my watch to the gym, I'll workout & it'll be all sweaty - the watch strap, under the watch, my skin.
But then I'll hit the showers & what I was doing was taking my watch in & giving it a wash too - getting all that sweat off.
I have a microfibre towel which I dry the watch with first after shaking it off, I dry myself & then I rub the watch again with dry clothing (my socks actually) to get the last of whatever it can get off. Then I put the watch back on and when I got that scorching I assumed there was just damp left on the watch that was irritating my skin all of a sudden maybe.
The thing is - I'd been doing this for ages, months, a good number of months - no problem. Then randomly out of the blue I got that scorch mark on my wrist that was itchy as hell & sore too. I had to start wearing the watch on my other wrist & it took 3-4 weeks before I could start wearing it on my normal wrist.
But I never actually felt any burning on the wrist.
And never really thought any more of it until I read that piece this morning.

I KNEW as it was a DM article that that would insta-get pointed out here. I was even going to make comment about it too but thought nah I'll leave it. lol.
As I say, I'd have thought nonsense too, but having experienced similar myself, I wonder.
And while various places may have varying reputations, if the exact same came from your most trusted made Dave, would it suddenly be accurate just because Dave said? I wonder.
Anyway, so you close by suggesting it's more likely an allergic reaction which is what happens when you wear it all day every day.
Well, as I've always been in to watches, ever since I was a kid I have worn a watch "all day every day". As a kid I'd even take a bath with one on (these days I remove it
And never, not once, have I had that, until the other month.
So you're suggesting it's not any kind of burn because the DM or Reddit said so.
And that for 30+ years I've not been allergic to them, then a few months ago I suddenly got allergic to them, then suddenly stopped being allergic again.
How bizarre.
