What have you done to INVEST in yourself to make future SAVINGS later?

OP has done well with the Tesla. My saving is similarly car-based - I remember weighing up options and having massive buyer's remorse over choosing a car that was kind of a category above what I'd been considering before and paying for it in upfront rather than using finance. But it has turned out to be so efficient, clean, cheap to tax.. 8 years later it's still in perfect condition and I expect I'll be keeping it for years and will have covered well over 100,000 miles in it. That initial higher purchase price has more than justified itself.

Not really investing in myself though. I guess education falls into that category (masters and PhD), though I'm not really sure they were at all value for money, sadly they're considered a minimum for my field so everyone has to do them, and the cost in terms of delayed earnings, lack of NI contributions etc. isn't in any way compensated for by any increase in salary. I'm kind of saving the world though, so I guess there is that?
