I just wonder why yours is cheaper than mine? Does the offer depend on your location in the country? I am currently sat contemplating whether to accept my offer, however if it's likely the Oct one will appear I shall wait.

Also, the fix states the early termination fees are if you leave for another supplier. If we were to fix this deal and in 6 months the SVT was far better, could we return to it for free (staying with BG)??

They are location dependant, possibly other factors like usage thresholds - our elec usage is quite high. I'm in Essex.
  • Thanks. Sounds like its still above the current SVR predictions for the next 12 months then?

No I don’t think so. It’s cheaper than the January onwards predictions afaik.

No. the ETC is levied for exiting the tariff, not the supplier.
Prices have always varied by region, presumably because the transit fees vary.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Oh interesting. My offer says ‘Exit Fees (if you change supplier before the end date): £100 per fuel’

So had assumed it meant moving to another company.

That would indeed indicate that it only applies if you switch supplier, but most tariffs just quote 'Exit Fee £x.
    Check with the supplier.

Haha, if only BG answered the phones… 😉

The terms and conditions link doesn't work for my offer so I jumped on the chat and they said they'd send them to my email. I've just had an email from BG stating

    Hello
Fixed price energy until 30 September 2023 Your unit rates are fixed, not your payments  £100 exit fee per fuel if you switch to another supplier before 13 August 2023

FIXED Tariff - This means that the price you pay per unit is fixed - not your payments.

Surely this can't be the terms and conditions? All this information and much more is available on the web page. So I read this as I can sign up and then drop back to the SVT without penalty.
