Just wondering how you get notified that probate has been granted? Guessing you will get a letter but do you also get an email? Asking because I'm on holiday when the 8 weeks is up and as I've a cash buyer for property so would need to come home to get it sorted.

You'll get an email followed by the grant of probate coming in the post, around 7-10 days later.0

It could be before or after the eight weeks when it gets approved too. I was in a similar position and we were able exchange contracts and complete within a week of getting the grant of probate to give you an idea on possible timescales.0

Mine (recently) took just under 6 weeks from the date of application. I had an email, followed a few days later by the actual document arriving in the post, well ahead of the quoted 10 days.0

Mine took around eight weeks. I was notified by email on a Sunday afternoon and received the document two days later.0

Judging by the many threads on here about probate delays, don't assume that you will receive it within the 8 week timescale!
Mine took more than that.0 -
