Does the ten minute grace period for PCN apply if parked in a resident parking bay

Hi All,

I'm hoping your can provide some help on whether the 10 minute grace period should apply in my situation.

I parked in a resident parking bay with a 1 hour voucher. The voucher started at 10.23, expired at 11.23 and i was issud a ticket at 11.30. I appealed and stated the truth that i was on my way to the car to leave and that ticket was issued with the 10minute grace period. The apppeal was rejected and the response informed me that the 10 minute grace period did not apply to residents parking bays. Is this correct or do i have grounds to further dispute?

    Which parking firm?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I think this is a Council one and my understanding is the ten minute grace period always applies after expiry of paid-for time.

If this is a Council penalty you will get a more expert opinion from posters on pepipoo.

If it is a private parking charge (not a penalty) then the name of parking firm is important.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
