Travel Insurance advice - only cancellation cover & for a single child

Any help appreciated on this. My daughter is going on a school trip in 2023 to Borneo and as part of the cost all of the necessary medical insurance is already included in that cost by the school/company running the trip (just not cancellation cover). I trying to find insurnace to cover just the cancellation part and for her as a 16 year old as she'll be at the time. Can't seem to find an insurance company that does anything other that the complete travel insurance packages.

Any help appreciated

Anything legal is possible to insure but unless there is significant demand for it then its expensive as it requires bespoke underwriting.

Think you will struggle in finding any cancellation only insurance and as such it'll be much cheaper to by regular insurance than to try and find some obscure product or get bespoke underwriting.

Are you sure this isn't being covered as part of the school insurance?

What type of cancellation are you trying to insure?

If your daughter decides not to go - can't imagine cover for the is possible.
If the school cancels the trip - then you should recover any costs from the school.
If the airline cancels the flight - then the airline should refund the costs.

Otherwise why not just get a standard policy to cover her for that 2 weeks or whatever it is?  Why make it just cancellation only?

Normally... daughter gets hit by the proverbial (school) bus so is too ill to travel
