Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy air feels much fresher and more comfortable. 

DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and  enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here.  DS2 settled and happy. 

Dinner last night was LO's sausages, breaded chicken steak, roasted new potatoes, beans for the menfolk.  I had fish and salad.  Tonight I'm not sure but forgot to get some chicken out of the freezer.

Back to work today - so will see how things are.

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc. 

My jaunt yesterday was lovely, well worth the long drive. I had hoped that the castle would be quiet - ha! It was packed out, there were large groups of assorted nationalities already enjoying the history. The staff who were doted around the castle were so friendly and helpful. I clambered all the way up to the top to find the Argyll's museum, it's all cobbled so was slightly challenging, and had a good wander round it. I didn't go into any of the other fascinating buildings because of the crowds, I can go back during the off season for a quieter look around, I also didn't go into the cafe, queues were too long. Seeing all the tourists was heartening, tourism is back in full swing.

IN EDIT - weenancy - yes, there were a large number of Americans roaming around as well as organised groups being given a guided tour. There was also a party of Germans (I spoke to a couple from Berlin  ) as well as the usual Italians.

I meandered my way home, going the even longer way home via the other side of Loch Lomond, a slower drive but so lovely. The weather improved hugely in the afternoon, thank goodness, making the scenery fabulous. 

Today I only have to take the grass clippings to the tip, I forgot all about them, they'll be going slimy in the bag so must get rid today. Lunch will be leftover lasagna and salad. 

I hope that everyone is doing OK. Happy Tuesday to all.

Morning

Restless night again.

Off to mums house today for a couple of days of sorting. Taking a load of boxes and packaging for the job along with a encyclopaedic form to fill in about everything you ever want to know about the house well as what I intend to leave. Do people really take loo roll and light bulbs now thats tight.

Got a little Morrisons delivery this morning to tide me over. Some prawns for my favourite prawn cocktail tonight. 

I know I hate being there so I don't relish it but needs must. Its the neighbours birthday today the one who has been a big help so I got her a cake and a card. 

I'll report in later when Im there have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another mizzly start here and it's forecast on and off for most of the day. At least it's mild so that's a small bonus!

No Tuesday coffee 'n lunch for me today. DFF not feeling up to it. She was changed to a stronger chemo on Friday and is having bad side effects from it, combined with sleepless nights. I am hopeful she soon picks up as she has coped really well so far. 

No other plans for today but there is the usual backlog of jobs waiting in the wings if I summon up the enthusiasm to tackle them.

Morning everyone it’s mild here but we are getting some heavy showers off to work soon back in at 5 seemed busy with customers yesterday a lot of people wanted outfits cleaned for weddings of course there was the usual work load but I have stepped down a pace bosses wife called in as I was serving a customer and asked if my press was still on as she had brought a couple of blouses in to iron I said yes help yourself when she asked what I was on with I said when I have finished serving I have curtains to do so she just left them and said there was no hurry I didn’t let on I only had 2 pairs of curtains to do so the blouses are still there they will get done at sometime she hates you having to serve in case the customers chat to you so you can’t talk and iron but she won’t serve anyone because people get on her nerves she winds me up a treat . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

It's grey and damp here, and cool, about 15 degrees at the moment. What a contrast to last Tuesday when we were away - I've never known such high temperatures in this country.
Sounds as if you had a lovely day out yesterday Gers.
Sorry to read that you won't be out today TA, I hope your friend will feel a bit better soon.
Will you have much more to do at your Mum's house Nels?
Your boss's wife sounds to be a bit of a pain Izzy!
I'll have to stir myself and do a bit of ironing today, but I must go out for a birthday card for my Ds2, It's his birthday on at the weekend.  I haven't time to make one. 
It's the quiz tonight so we'll catch up with our friends.

Morning all damp and grey this morning I am off to collect some bits from Sainsbugs clothing sale for the new baby hamper other than that just the usual titivating round the house  . Pie n mash night in the Bella house 
Gers Sounds like you had a good visit envy you living in such a beautiful part of the country
Nels Thinking of you clearing the house we are still doing boxes nearly 2 years later and yes some of the questions on the form do make you wonder what people take with them when they move
Izzy Your boss sounds a real pain you are a better woman than me i wouldn't be able to hold my tongue
TA I hope your friend feels better soon and her treatment does its job

Oh Scarlet I have the most of it to do. With my mobility problems plus not having a car I am reliant on taxis and what I can do myself.this is a marathon not a sprint

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.

GP has referred me for a blood test but earliest appointment is Thursday at 3pm. Good to be in the system at least but can't stay off work all that time, so will log on later and clear my emails. Line manager is being very understanding which is great. Cleared the ironing pile yesterday (2 hours!) and hand washed the entire contents of the DW as it seems to have broken through lack of use this past fortnight. Good to keep busy I guess....

The castle sounds fascinating Gers, glad you had a good time.
Good luck at DMum's house Nels - you are doing a great job in difficult circumstances. Wish your DB would step up though.
Shame about your curtailed meet up TA, and all good wishes to your friend. Congrats to your DGDs - what little stars they are x

Morning all

I went to work yesterday and started to feel really funny, hot and then freezing cold and really sick and shaken, a few weeks ago I found a lump in my tummy and went to the Dr who put me through for an urgent scan, the scan came through for the end August  anyway the Dr examined me yesterday and said the lump has got so much bigger and is pressing on my bladder and has caused an infection which is why i felt so rough, she has given me some antibiotics which should help, I did not go back to work but came home to bed and slept for several hours, i then went to bed at 8 last night and slept through till 8 this morning, I do feel slightly better but am still having pains in the tummy. She has put me through for an urgent two week scan in the hopes that they will get me in before we go away on Monday, fingers crossed its just a fibroid and nothing worse.

I have taken today off as I still feel rough so will have a rest day and hope the tablets kick in soon.

Meatballs and spaghetti for dinner tonight, dd will cook as she has the day off, will have a quick tidy through and then have a good rest.

Nels good luck with mums house, I wish I could be there to help xxx

Morning all.  It's typical British summer weather here today - dull with drizzle, no wind, mild'ish.  The weather man keeps saying it will improve but when, I don't think they know for sure!

Today's excitement will be the grocery delivery; only one sub - no wonky peppers so will be getting a bag of x3  but they'll refund the difference so that's OK.  According to the Royal Mail tracking service the slippers I ordered will be coming tomorrow - I had hoped it would be today but hey ho, there's no rush.

Today's dinner is a sausage & mushroom casserole, the last bit of a sweetheart cabbage and mash.  I could do with doing some baking too as the cake tin is empty (again) so that's my day sorted.

Sounds like you had a lovely day, Gers.

My thoughts are with you on the house clearing Nels, it's a tough job on your own but you can only go at the pace you can manage.

Sorry to hear your friend isn't up to a day out TA, my best wishes to her.  I know what you mean about "enthusiasm" - it can be very elusive at times!

Stick to your guns Izzy, your boss's wife doesn't sound easy to be with.
