Morning! Well, that was a scorcher wasn't it? Maybe not in the further north though...Spent most of yesterday gently sweating on the sofa, today will probably be spent sleeping on the sofa since I've been awake all night, but at least it's a lot cooler now, just in time for the sun to come up and rinse and repeat. I phoned the opticians and have an appointment for Thursday to see what's going on. That's about the extent of my activities, although I did water the tomatoes yesterday morning, the water butt is well and truly dry now. And the seagulls at the moment are all waking up for their daily tip exploration, depositing large poos all over my car...
dp1, bet that was scary, it's normal to be a bit rigid when you're faced with with something like that, but you did rally, so kudos. And better prepared if it happens again. Stay hydrated folks!
Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...

No real plans for today other than keeping as cool as possible, although I am out playing music this evening.
Planned meal changed to salad, which we will probably have at lunchtime and then something to nibble before I go out. Will get changed and pop out for a newspaper quite soon but it's going to be a long day.
Stay cool everyone.
We kept the children in after 11 yesterday- they were all a bit tired and cross so about 2.30 we went out and sat next to the hedge with our ice lollies...they melted so quickly but they loved them. Then a quick play before they went home. When I got home I was outside until after 8pm...mostly in the shade at the bottom of the garden.
Commiserations for those of you working in hot conditions....Izzy they should give you the day off!
Snoozer - congratulations on your exciting news.
Redruby - oh no - I hope you manage to get an appointment. I had a letter yesterday to say the dentists I've been to for years is closing - we now have only one NHS dentist in the town which of course is full, with a huge waiting list
My niece had to pay £40 for a private check up for her little boy as we was complaining his teeth were sore...luckily they were fine so no treatment to pay for.
Taff - yes it was scary, but in a way I'm pleased it happened as now I know I can sort it...little one kept saying 'well done granny you fixed my tummy!'
Well I'd better move...I put my bedding in to wash and it's spinning now so I'll get it outside soon.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Have a good day one and all if you can stay cool if not a damp hand towel on your head or neck works wonders I found this out at the Pyramids in Egypt along with DD1's MIL xx
Today I have to re-hang the shower curtains as I took them down and washed them, then tackle the cupboards that I didn't get around to yesterday, they're both smallish ones so shouldn't take too long. Later this afternoon I have an appointment with the hairdresser unless it gets cancelled first. Might even break the diet and call in the chippy for our tea as I probably won't get out till late.
dp1 well done for sorting the little one out after your rabbit in the headlight moment. Think even the best of us would all have frozen initially.
taff hope you sleep better tonight
Snoozer how exciting a baby girl !
RedRuby I hope you can get an emergency appointment.
Gers I remember Amber Solaire too ! We must have been frying like chips in "them old days" 😂

Take care all, I shall send cool hugs to anyone in need.
