Cost of Living Payment - Am I getting this?

Hey, I a, currently on Contributions based ESA which means I don't get the payment unless I'm on UC which I am. Does this mean I will get it now? Also I have a joint claim with my partner he only gets UC does that mean he will get it too? or instead of me? The guidelines are confusing so any help would be great :) Thank you so much have a lovely day x

You will get it on the basis of UC. Paid separately from your existing benefits and should be paid by 31st July. The payment will go to whichever one of you receives the UC payment (you only get one as a couple).

Low income benefits and tax credits
You may get a payment of £650 paid in 2 lump sums of £326 and £324 if you get payments of any of the following:
    • Universal Credit..
If you have a joint claim with a partner, you will get one payment of £326 and one payment of £324 for your joint claim, if you’re entitled.

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • Thanks so much Calcotti :)
