Hi everyone,
Last day here in Wales, it's been a very pleasant 20ish degrees but we're heading back to 28 plus which I am not looking forward to. I'd stay here but we have to pick up L,B and E at Heathrow tomorrow and it's Crystal's baby shower on Sunday, only about 5 weeks for her to go, unfortunately baby seems to prefer lying breech so she may end up with a section.
There's not a lot else to report so I'll go and get started.
Have a good day and stay safe those who are in the heat.10 -
Morning all, the sun is back out along with the heat. Sleep eluded me too last night, not because of the heat, it was quite cool but there was a fire somewhere which had wafted in our open windows, so I was coughing and my sinuses were full up for hours. Luckily I have nose drops which help but meanwhile Mr Fix It slept peacefully and oblivious.🤔
There was an air ambulance at our local park yesterday (2 mins from us) now it seems a little 2yr old girl, Grace, fell in the fish pond (a cement structure about 8ft in diameter with a fountain and a 2ft wall surrounding it) and was pulled out and given CPR. She was taken to one of the big hospitals in Cardiff where she's critical and on full life support 😰 My thoughts go to her Grandparent's who live in our road, and also her parents, they must all be frantic. This is the first accident with the pond that I've ever heard of in my lifetime.
Today's main tasks are to mow the back lawn, finally and before it gets too hot, then take the patio curtains down again as I've put the hooks back in the wrong place so they're a bit short, they should be at the top of the heading and not hooked in the middle, stupid girl 😠 I'd only hung one yesterday when I realised my mistake but himself kindly put the other one back up early this morning before I arose without changing the hooks over either, so now the pair have to come back down 🤨
TA and Scarlet hope you have a lovely time away.
NRA good luck in the new job and the house sale.
Right I'd better shift myself I suppose, but I'll have a coffee first, procrastinating again me thinks !
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones, the MIA's and anyone in need.
nan xx

Morning
Going back home today for a few days anyway. Yesterday was a mad one I had the benefit of the neighbour come round to muck in before she went to work so lots got done One bedroom pretty much sorted into charity sell or bin. Lets just say we have 2 full bins hers and mums. Funny how as the day went on the more bin rather than keep decisions were made. Managed to force persuade the neighbour to get over her politeness and take some things for herself. She has been such a help so she is welcome too anything. Mum always loved her and she did so much to help her over the years from opening a bottle of bleach when she couldn't to clearing all the hidden food and arranging an extra bin collection when mum got really ill. She works in a local pub so is a minefield of contacts! Still an overwhelming amount to do but having her energy and speed has been invaluable.
Be so glad to get home and no plans so sloth will be top of the agenda this weekend. It rained this morning which was such a relief, the air is cooler and ready for another onslaught of heat later today
TA your escapes to your holiday residence sound perfect
Ruby good luck with your meeting you need to be out for your holiday
Gers I totally understand I dread opening cupboards and drawers here now reminds me of the reason I got into Death clearing which involved making life easier for anyone having to deal with your rubbish once you go. Hope you enjoy the process more in your own home

The cupboard has been cleared
Not as much stuff as I anticipated - one duvet, two pillows, two rugs, a wash basin, assorted 'things' and some long lost documents which I will now scan and dispose of. These are some of my undergraduate essays which I'm really pleased to find. I've been to the tip with the duvet and pillows and put some stuff aside for a CS.
Also in the cupboard were a small number of my childhood paperback books, mostly Mallory Towers and St. Clare's stories by Enid Blyton. I think that they're too old for a CS though I will include them in the bag, I'm sure that if they're not good enough the books will go to be pulped. Two more things - the photo album my DM compiled of me from birth, it's a lovely leather album with 'Unsere Kind' on the front in gold letter (our child), so lovely to find again. Not sure what to do with this, probably keep it a wee while, then scan all the photos (most of which I have already) and get rid of the empty album. There's a painting my late DB did in 1971 of a series of various coats of arms mostly to do with both sides of our family and a couple for his wife's side from hundreds of years ago. It's rather faded and battered with a tear in it too. I'm loathe to throw it out so hope that it'll fit in the bottom of my suitcase, I think one of my nephews will want it.Talking of suitcases, whilst I was in town I ordered my holiday money today, more ducks getting into line.Nelski - the pain of clearing out my DM's place will live me with a long time though it's making my task here simpler. I can't be having a load of things which are out of sight and not in use. And I haven't the space for everything, nor the will to have to dust stuff.Nan - I hope that you sleep better tonight.Snoozer - happy journey back home.Ruby - did you sort out the confusion about days? I hope so.NRA - time does go by so fast after a death, it's astounding and birthdays are always more difficult.Izzy - your OH had better look out!DP1 - perhaps sleep will come back to you tonight too.Camelot - you're very busy, it all sounds good.Taff - good work in clearing out wardrobes.Bella - I'm glad that your car part is ready.Off to scan and burn.7
