Leaving job and getting back on benefits

Hi all,

So around 4 weeks ago I took a new job after being on universal credit due to disability. I just really cannot do the job, it causes me too much pain to even sit at a desk and I can only move around in a wheelchair, it's just causing so much more pain and tiredness than I can handle and I have already had to take time off sick.

I'm really worried about what to do, when I started the job my universal credit online account was changed to "sanctioned" but its still an open claim.

I need to leave, I really can't continue working in this way. I am just so nervous about what to do as I'm worried about what will happen with benefits if I do. If I get all my benefits stopped and I can't pay my rent then I don't know what I can do.

The stress of all of this is really affecting me and I feel so dumb for ever trying to work.

Does anyone have any advice?

Why didn't you sort the sanction?

Either way its hould have been ended as your regime would have changed.

Why were you sanctioned? Starting a job wouldn't result in a sanction.

I've went back on to my account today (hadn't logged in since the day I started my job) and there's now no mention of a sanction. I have no clue why it had said that before but it definitely did as I showed someone else it. It just shows my current commitments as

-complete all activities in my to-do list
-report any changes to my circumstances promptly, including changes to work.

My claim wouldn't end because I was still waiting on my medical assessment and would still have received extra on top of my wages if the medical hadn't taken over 8 months to sort so far.

If you provide a Fit Note saying you are not fit for work and report this to UC then you will not be sanctioned if you give up your job. Unfortunately however your wait for a Work Capability Assessment may start all over again.
