Universal Credit entitlement breakdown

Dear all,

I recently applied for UC and will be receiving the first payment today. When i checked the breakdown the entitlement of £1000+ is for the Standard allowance and 2*Children alloance. No rent is included in the calculation. They have reduced a small amount for my savings and investements.
I am on a new build shared ownership propety. Have a steady income and works approx 55 hours a week.
1) Do the consider my income too high therefore not considering the Rent and the Service charges which i included in the application when allying for UC?

2) I was supposed to have a job center appointment today with  a coach but they cancelled it. My wife attended the appointment today and she was told that i do not need a face to face appointment? They did not tell her a reason.

3) The coach asked my wife about her plans regarding findign a job since my youngest child is 5 years old now. She told that she can find/get a job then i might have to reduce my hours which will reduce the income. I have a better paid job so there is no point of I reducing the hours and she starts working part time. As per our calculation this might increase the UC entitlment.
The coach said that its the system request the applicant to find work but he said he will put a note regarding this scenario. Asked us to keep checking the to-do-list and see what kind of decision will be made regarding my wife needed to look for a job.

Any feedback regarding this scenario?

4) Will we receive the above mentioned entitlement every month or will it change in case of a change in income? I doube any changes to income but have they calculated my income before deciding to award the entitlement we just received today? I have provided the last 12 months income last week. Will this amount change next month?

Thanks in advance

    1) Rent should be included but for shared ownership they have to do it manually. I would send them a message in the journal to tell them it's not on your statement.

If you're earning there should be a deduction for your wages.

    4) I imagine your payment is based on your June wages? July will change because of the national insurance change from 6th July.

Or are you talking about getting an advance?

Thanks for the quick response. Its not about an advance.

I am wondering whether they have considered my earnings at all before awarding this standard allowance which i have mentioned in my post. Before applying for the UC i just entered the same details on few UC online calculators and the amount calculated was approx £600.

I will send them a message and inquire about the rent and whether its been considered when deciding the entitlement.

Have you actually received payment from your employer within the period the payment is for?  If not then its correct it hasn't deducted anything for earnings.

You should be able to see on the statement exactly what has been taken into account.

    Standard allowance
    child element
    housing element
Added together that gives a maximum amount

There will then be a deduction for earnings. The earnings that the deduction is based on should be stated.

if something isn’t shown it hasn’t been taken into account.

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

If you've received earnings from your employer during that assessment period and they haven't taken into consideration then you'll need to report those earnings.

That will have nothing to do with your entitlement each month. UC is based on earnings received during your assessment period.
Have a look at your statement to check if your earnings are on there. If they're not then they haven't been taken into consideration. Your employer reports your earnings to HMRC and DWP check with those.

Hi , I dont see any earnings on the statement.
Just the standard allowance of £525.72 and the Child allowance of £534.58. Deduction section has taken out £17 for savings and investments. No shared ownership rent/service charge is mentioned and anything related to the wages.

Then you need to put a message onto your journal about the housing element. You also need to tell them what earnings you've received within your assessment period. Your UC will then be recalculated. Whether there's any entitlement will depend on earnings received.
