Morning folks.
It's a warm, muggy yet misty start to the day. I'll be back in a little bit.

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's grey and cloudy here, but 22 degrees already. Rain is forecast for later on.Yesterday was an ok day, I had a list of jobs which I worked through, and this morning it's our Residents' Association meeting, it comes round frighteningly quickly.I was in The Wor*s yesterday browsing through the card making/craft stuff and I saw some pads of Christmas design papers, for making Christmas cards! Talk about starting early.Dh took some clothes over to the caravan, there's still a few bits to sort out though. It's difficult to strike a balance between enough and not enough clothes when you're going away, at least I find it is.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today - take care folks10

All up and dressed now and ready to face the day.Yesterday morning the gardener turned up first, she worked on weeding two areas which I hadn't sprayed. My towels all dried in the warm air as the clouds slowly cleared. Later the cleaner arrived so I took the garden waste to the tip, picked up some lemon curd cake at a local cafe and went to sort out the techie challenge for a friend. Luckily she had Publisher on her laptop so the task was much easier than I had anticipated.Later in the evening the chap up the hill came with a friend to remove one of my old sofas. As I thought it had to be taken through the big barn but they managed it easily after taking off the wee stumpy legs, mind you it only just squeezed out. Now I've got a big space in my living room which looks odd. One down, one to go.This morning a local painter / decorator is calling round to quote for the work upstairs. If the rain stops and the sun comes out I'll sit in the garden for a while, otherwise I don't know.TA - enjoy your time away and I hope that your DD's car is good.Happy Tuesday to all.12

Morning all
Another scorcher of a day ahead, its meant to get up to 27 deg today, yesterday at work was almost unbearable obviously I have to wear full length trousers closed toe shoes and an aprontop all this off with a mask and it made for a very uncomfortable day ! Not for much longer though
I have the day off today as I am going on a fire course for my new job, its only till lunch time so I get the afternoon off which will be nice.
Prawn and chorizio rice for dinner tonight we will eat in the garden as its slightly cooler out there.
TA have a lovely break away xxx
Nels I hope you are getting on ok with the big clear xxx
Have good days all xxx13 -
Morning
Posting from mums house. My in depth sleep study proved that I don't sleep here either...joy. To be fair it was so hot last night I was tempted to camp out in the garden.
More good news on the sale. Another offer this time 5K over asking. Decided to accept this one. She is not a FTB but has had an offer on her house so a chain but hopefully not a problematic one. I have been clear that I can't do this quickly as its a much bigger job than first look.
Today its more decluttering and thinking about selling some things. The neighbour has been so helpful and moves a few million miles an hour faster than me. She's a godsend but also has to work so I can only steal so much of her time.
Food wise today I may opt for a simple pizza tonight but that will involve the oven which I need to suss out
Have a good day all

Morning All
Back home again after a couple of glorious days away. What a lovely area, long sandy beaches, castles and beautiful weather, couldn't have asked for anything more. Long drive but the scenery made it worthwhile. We called in to see some friends of mine who live sort of on the way home so it was good to see them too.
Sadly it's raining this morning, a perfect day to re-seal the shower and catch up with some jobs in the house. I called in at the allotment on my way home and picked some courgette, first of the season but many more to come! The boys who live across the road were here watering the garden, greenhouse and baskets.
Great news Ruby, you'll be so relieved to hand in your notice.
I can't imagine the heat at your work Izzy, must be awful. I think we all have a lazy colleague, makes you mad.
Well done Nelski, that must be a weight off your mind. Be careful clearing everything, perhaps we should organise a bus trip to come to help.
Where are you off to Scarlett?
Washing can stay inside for now, it's forecast to clear up later so hopefully it can go out to finish drying, apart from that the house is fairly clean and tidy.
Have a good day, take care. XX10 -
A quick good morning from Mehefinland
Well yesterday was scorchio all day. The nags ( can't call them the girls anymore since we acquired the boy) were not happy and were ready to go into the barn to escape the flies. Latest is now fully shod and has been ridden several times by Mrs M; and I have long reined and driven him once in the field. So far so good. He is gathering quite a fan club of passers by, plus of course the mares who have been rather OTT since he arrived !
Sallylabrador is getting very early morning walks atm but she seems quite happy to lie on the kitchen tiles.
Been on garden duties for my lovely neighbour who has been in Malaga...burnt to a crisp.. came back hoping for some cooler weather and straight into a heatwave. You couldn't make it up!
That's it for now. Stay safe - Covid is flaring again in these parts
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning...blessedly cooler for the moment. I've finished the front garden, two stints in the morning and evening [ some time spent redoing a section where I'd made mistakes] an that's it now. Now onto the rest of the garden tidy up. I'm revising options for the bottom of the garden, I'm going to have to learn to lay concrete blocks, make a pizza oven or just an oven. New challenge ahead. Not till next year though. Taking my car for a new windscreen today, there's a chip/crack outside the repairable area apparently, more expense...when I come back, if it's still not too hot, clothes sorting.Nels, excellent news! Maybe, and I know that this may be a contentious idea, a house clearance firm after you have identified anything you/your mum want to keep or sell? It would take a lot of the hassle out of the equation. Izzy, yep, there's always one who takes full advantage of everything they can, but in your position, with your boss, maybe you should be playing that game too...
dp1, such a good idea to have a holiday at home! Bella, I am another one who has been thinking about air con for the bedrooms, well, our bedroom really. snoozer, hope it's great there too, and I am probably an over preparer in some senses, bu yes, the dash cam has been very good for me so far too. TA, are you caravanning it up? camelot, wb! Take care today, water and shade ordered!

Today its bin filling with small stuff and continue making holes in the job. Working on the elephant eating theory then I don't kill myself. Major distraction today may well be the arrival of a large roll of poppy paper11 -
Hello all, so who's got all the sun ? It's overcast with spots of rain but still very, very warm, could do with a downpour to clear the air. I didn't have a good night, in and out the loo mainly and I can't even blame a late night cuppa either !
I rang Dad yesterday and he says he's better, then he gave me a running commentary of some big truck programme on the TV via the phone for 20mins and ended the conversation making snippy remarks. Oh joy, what did I did to deserve that ? I should be used to it by now but it came out of the blue, it's just hurtful 😟
All the curtains are now washed and ready to go back up and I then have some food stock to rotate and the new shopping to be put away as I still haven't done it, so those are my tasks for today but it depends on energy, heat and willpower and to be honest I cba at the moment. Perhaps more coffee will help ?
On a good note, the insurance company have sent an email to say that the bus company has paid up in full, so no more going back and forth and worry for us. Apparently the hire car costs came to £7,600 alone 😱
Camelot welcome back. Please pick me up if you sort out the bus trip to help Nels, I'm only a little bit off the beaten track.
Izzy have a hug from me.
Scarlet I too am guilty as charged about the clothes for the van, well you never know what the weather will throw at us next.
taff my front garden needs chippings put down, soooo if you're at a loose end now.............😂
Mehefin Hi, it seems everywhere in Wales the cases are rising sharply. Good to see the boy has the ladies on their toes. My regards to Mrs M.
Nels that's great news, hopefully the buyers won't be in too much of a rush to move either.
Gers one sofa down, one to go Yay !!
RedRuby hopefully it will be cooler for you today on the course.
Take care all, stay safe and cool if you can.
