SWITCHING TO HSBC FROM HALIFAX ACCOUNT

HI EVERYONE, yesterday I completed the Switch and message on page 5 said Submitted.  However, have not received an email confirming anything...is this routine?  My earliest switch date is 22 July, but had seen that once Switch in progress, could start transferring money on an earlier date, which I would need given have DDs due 23/24 July should I have received an email at least from HSBC..not feeling very confident now...

I wouldn't worry. Although I've never switched an account to HSBC, I have found most banks will not send you a message until the switch has actually begun. If the switch date is 22 July, the switch will be due to begin on 14 July so expect to hear from them then but give or take a couple of days. You will also hear from your old bank telling you they are very sorry that you're switching to HSBC at around the same time. As for the DDs, they will most likely go out on 25 July as the 23rd and 24th are both non-working days so will be after the switch anyway and any money in your old account will get automatically forwarded onto your new account on 22 July.
