PIP Renewal

Good Morning.
My PIP award was orginally due to expire in March 2022 but due to Covid it was extended to January 2023. I recieved the renewal form late March and returned it on 31st March 22 which was before the deadline of 18th April 22.
Since then I have heard nothing at all from them. Should I have heard from them by now or is normal for me not to have heard yet? I am continuing to recieve my payments so I would think they have recieved the form or the payments would have stopped.
Is it best that I contact them now to see at what stage my renewal is at or should I wait a bit longer before I contact them?

Completely normal at the moment. There are waits of many months for assessments and new claims are being prioritised over renewals.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1

That is understandable, but I am concerned that it may not hear before my award ends in January. When do you think it would be sensible to contact them if I don't hear anything from them?
