I have been a stay at home mum for the last few years. I started a new part time job but unfortunately it didn't work out. I was only there for one week. Should i still have got a P45 when i finished? I didn't pay any tax or NI on what i earned. I don't have a new job but i am looking for part time work. If i get another job will i need the P45?
Many thanks

You do not need a P45 to start a new job, and in your case your dont need the hassle. Just fill in a new starter ( P46)0

Yes, you should have received a P45. Have you been paid for the work yet? If so you could contact your old employer and ask them to forward it to you.
But as Longwalker says, it's not essential when starting a new job. Your new employer will ask you to fill in a "starter checklist" (used to be called a P46) and HMRC will update them with your previous earnings after your first payday.
Good luck with the job hunting!0 -
Thanks for your replies. I have been paid and I have tried asking them for one, but they haven't been very forthcoming.0
