Hi I made a request  for pension credit  but couldn't get past age requirements as I am 66 but the mrs is 61 is this fair as it looks like I have to wait till she is 66?

The rules changed for mixed aged couples and from May 2019 you can no longer claim pension credit. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/help/Mixed-age-couples

You can check entitlement to Universal Credit but it will depend on your joint circumstances because you'll need to claim as a couple. Regardless of whether or not you think it is fair, it is the law. Pension Credit cannot be claimed by a couple unless both are pension age.

It is Universal Credit you need to look at. Unless you and/ or your wife are disabled she would be expected to meet work commitments.
