Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, have a good day off.
Overcast here and there's been a shower overnight, really warm again yesterday even though the sunshine wasn't out for long. Hoping to move everything over on the decking later in case I can get the rest of the oil down between the showers forecast.
Met up with a friend for dinner last night, so good to catch up. I blew the diet and had a calzone - really delicious! Came home for a coffee before bed and had a mint Aero someone had given me, really enjoyed that too but back to healthy eating today.
I'm going to spend a birthday voucher later and have my eyebrows waxed, lashes tinted and a mini pedicure - quite looking forward to being pampered before the holidays.
Leaver's assembly today, tissues at the ready!
Well done on the stone lost Ruby, great acheivement.
Hugs to anyone in need.
Hope the poorlies are feeling better.
Take care. XX14 -
Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc.No rain 😀 here's hoping today stays dry. Yesterday was mostly lovely though no blazing bright sun.Blood tests and BP done. I collected the cleaned duvet, bought a new wee planter and didn't get my meds as they weren't ready. I'll go back later for them as I've got a dress to return via the delivery office. Wearing a dress is not something I've done for many years, this one is a large floaty one but was so tight across the bust so back it goes and I've ordered the next size up.I've come across a large box of assorted things which I had accumulated during my Glasgow days, cables, creams, books and so on. I'll sort them all out this morning, I'm sure that most can be found new homes as I haven't needed or missed them since coming back here last July.Number three nephew has just texted me that he's booked his flight from Seoul back to Oz for my visit. Last chick back in the nest. This morning I'll go out early to hand over the parcel and collect my meds then it'll be the usual Friday phone call from Oz then I plan on planting some lettuce seeds in the new trough thing. After that I don't really know.My thoughts are with our poorlies. Happy Friday to all.15

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Another lovely day, I know the nights are a bit too hot for comfort but I'm not complaining about this lovely heat, we need it after the long cold winter.Yesterday was a busy day, we had dgs till 4.30. I think he still seems out of sorts from his vomiting bug last week, it'll pass though. After we handed him over to dd yesterday we came back and started to tidy up outside - moved some plants about in the backyard then swept and hosed it, so it now looks a bit better.I've got a towel wash to go in, and there's general tidying to do as usual. A couple of friends may come round tonight, one is having 2 teeth out today, so she'll see how she feels after that.Congrats on the weight loss Ruby, you've done so well.Hope everyone has a a good day today, take care folks.14

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After a glorious week of sunshine we finally had a spit spot of rain last night. Sadly not enough to either cool it down or water the garden and pots. It was a very muggy night for sleeping. Today more rain is forecast later with the chance of thunder too. I hope that's not the end of summer!
Friday Tidy here. Just a dust and vac all around, at snail's pace. Too warm for rushing. The kitchen and bathroom got done yesterday before retiring in the garden to read. The benefit of this weather is I am at last starting to make inroads into my big backlog of books. Still lots to get through.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. CAMELOT that sounds like a lovely pampering session ahead for you. NELS I hope your new hair do is a success and you are happy with the new you! TAFF slow down, it tires me out reading about you lugging stones about! Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning everyone
I haven't been too well the last couple of days - feeling really dizzy and light headed - I have medication now so hopefully it will help. Good chat with doctor too - it's yet another symptom of long Covid.
It's been lovely here this week - I'm hoping it continues. ..though showers are forecast for this afternoon.
I need to go down to the shop this morning - mainly for fruit and bread, then work at lunchtime.
Officially resigned from my 2nd job yesterday - I know I'm not going to manage it for the foreseeable and need to concentrate on getting back to my main job at nursery in September. Boss was very understanding especially as I've found her a replacement! It means I'll feel the pinch a bit this next month until my Universal Credit is adjusted but my freezers and cupboards are well stocked so I'll be fine.
Better get sorted - hope everyone has a good dad today x11 -
Hi everyone,
Yesterday was a storage sort of day. We bought shelves to go in the new shed, Steve put them up and changed the pack with the faulty items. We also went to IKEA to try to address the shoenami which has taken over the utility room (Brian is an Imelda Marcos). The solution we decided on wasn't in stock so we bought something else, got it home and decided it didn't work, I then came up with a better solution so back we go today to change things.
I did manage to shorten the dining table by myself and I also treated the surface which has been hidden under a table protector (it's a vintage Ercol table we bought from a relative of Steve's and has a beautiful woodgrain). I found that the table protector still worked if I turned it 90 degrees, the overlap being hidden by the tablecloth.
It sounds as if Esben had a lovely time yesterday at Glastonbury, I hope they didn't have much rain last night.
Have a good day.12 -
Nice here again, but there was some rain last night, some when we watched DGS football training so we came away a bit damp! I had a good weed clearing session in the back, and composted some of the salad leaves which had bolted. I did buy mixed leaf seeds & cut & come again lettuce and the main ones that have come up are not ones I recognise really. I like rocket but not much of that has appeared so next year I'll buy separate packets. I also took a dress in so it looks much better now, let's hope there's enough summer weather to wear it!Camelot, your pamper session sounds lovely. Taff your days sound exhausting atm
Bella ,Cuba sounds really interesting. Right better get on with the Friday admin work. Hope you are all well, if not have a hug x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Morning all...Not so sunny, rain forecast but it'll fill up my water butts hopefully so I can stand in the garden in the rain shouting 'Fill my butts!' which is my preferred method of rain dancing...Scares the neighbours though...One more barrow, a bit of sweeping the odd ones and I should be finished with that part, but I'm off to the hospital today to get myself fitted with a heart monitor for three days to see if it can catch the periods when my heart beats erractically. I stopped taking one lot of tablets because they might have had an impact on that, plus I felt like they were acting like an antidepressant, I seemed to be wading through a sea of nothing mattering, wasn't having any of that...it did help a bit though, they've definitely reduced in occurrence. I dreamt I had a conversation with a spanish lady in italian last night, words and phrases were just tripping out of my mouth...if only I could do that irl...
So after that a trip to the reclaim place to pick up some wood I asked for and then start the great clothes sort if it's raining, if not, I'm going to try levelling the front a bit more and burning the ends of the weed fabric because I've got all those stringy bits flapping around and getting caught in my spade. TA, thank you, but I do need the excercise, helps with the weight loss
WL, the celebration sounds lovely, I think I'd like that rather than a normal one. Bella, Cuba sounds like the kind of place OS'ers would enjoy! snoozer, hope they enjoy glasto, hope you enjoy time off! shoenami ::snort::
TA, nah, it'll be scorchio again before long, just for you and your books
camelot, enjoy the pamper session, sounds lovely! Gers, happy Oz prepping! Rosy, I've had a total miss on lettuce this year, and a lot fo other stuff, one bean out of eight survived, the courgettes got eaten, no climbers sprouted at all. I commiserate...at least you have something coming up
Take care today peoples...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -
Morning all
Very warm here but no sunshine atm, I have a wash on the go and it can go on the line afterwards for a while, I will wash the towels afterwards.
Ive got an ocado delivery coming tomorrow the Festival of speed is on this weekend locally and the roads are always gridlocked, so no collecting the shopping this week, I am actually getting fed up with Aldi, although most things are ok their fruit and veg is shocking, this week I had to throw some broccoli and a bag of salad two days after buying it, it had gone slimey
but I often have to chuck F + V from them, so I got a £20 voucher from ocado and will try them this week
I have an eye test at lunch time today, I just want the prescription though as I want to order some online as they are much cheaper.
Gnocci for dinner tonight with garlic bread and salad, I will just have a small bit of bread.
Have good days all and take care xxx.11 -
Morning all,
Have dropped DS2 at school for his final A Level. Wanted to get paint from H0mebase on way home as I'm hoping to make a start on the spare room tomorrow. They don't open until 9am (sure it used to be 8am) so came home via 2 fuel stations in the hope I could fill up - first one queueing into the road and second one shut!
Have rooted through the freezer for lunch items and will have a JP with mackerel and salad. Trying to use up the bits and bobs whilst DH is away.
I agree @RedRuby1231 I have very limited success with A!di F&V
Good luck getting the storage sorted @snoozer
@taff hope the appointment goes okay and take it easy - you put me to shame with your get up and go!
Wishing everyone a good day and hugs to the poorlies or those feeling run down.
