Afternoon all. Well, yesterday was hot, hot, hot but I managed to walk to the pharmacy and back for DH's meds before it got too uncomfortable but, boy, was I pleased to get home. Today we're back to normal - dull with a promise of rain at some stage and much cooler. I hope that's not our summer been and gone! We weren't that hungry, so for tea we just had a sea bass fillet each with bread & butter followed by apple pie & ice cream.
Not much on the agenda today - bed made, kitchen bin emptied and cleaned out, freezer tidied (again) and inventory checked. I live such an exciting life! Tomorrow should be a bit livelier as DS and DGSs are visiting so I shall conserve my energy for then - an 8 year old and 6 year old twins are challenging, to say the least. I love it really. So pleased to hear your weather is a bit better today, Gers. (Or maybe not having read the update post.)
Those early morning dilemmas are a PITB, Nels. But well done on the valuations. Fingers crossed your wild card buyer makes a decent offer.
Enjoy the church fete, WL.
I do hope you don’t lose your bus service, TA. The PTB don’t seem to realise that not everyone has a car or can get a lift.
Have a good weekend, whatever you're doing and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.4 -
Late one from me - I've had little one all day - then took her home at teatime and we had Chinese takeaway - it was really nice. Took her to the little park near us this morning and other than that just pottered about while she played - nice unhurried day.
Sad news - we lost eldest cat last night. he was in the kitchen just before teatime with little one and I and then went into the garden - I went out to the bin about half an hour later and he had passed away lying in the sun. I called the vet and a really nice nurse came - he had a heart murmur and she said that was what had killed him. It was quite a shock! I manage to keep little one out the way till she'd wrapped him in a blanket and then she she said goodbye and stroked him. It was all very sad..6 -
dpq - so sad to hear your news. It is hard to lose a furry family member. At least it seems it was peaceful.3
