This morning looks (and sounds) so much better than yesterday. All that awful weather carried on until about noon when the rain stopped and the sun tried to get out from behind the dense cloud. Recklessly, I put on the white washing load and got it out on the whirly, it was so lovely to see it blowing fiercely in the still high wind. A wee wagtail took great exception to me being close to the bushes, it stomped around, flapped its wings and waggled it's tail at me. I suppose it had a nest close by. 😀
My other tasks were a little light dusting and vacuuming downstairs, watering the peace lily, changing the water for the flowers and generally pottering around. Didn't touch the scanning pile so perhaps it'll engage my attention today.I intend to drive up to Oban this morning for a few bits and pieces, after that I don't know.I hope that everyone is doing well, lovely new horse mehfin. Happy Saturday to all.13 -
Morning everyone
Good day yesterday I think! 3 valuations all came in the same price so I guess that’s what it will be. Bit more than I had expected tbh so if it sells that’s more in the pot for mums care. My wild card bin man came round to view too with his wife and they seem keen so will hold off on a decision with an agent for a little while whilst he checks if he can extend his mortgage. Its all becoming far too real now! Felt that so many times this year.
Very stuffy day but quite a bit of cloud so kept it bearable.
Hardly any sleep last night. Combination of the heat and my brain having a party as it has a whole load of new things to worry about. My latest worry is my passport which expires in a few weeks. It seems there is still months of waiting list so if I send it now there’s no chance it will be back before I need it but if I don’t it will have expired during the selling process. You see how that cheeky dilemma is so important at 2,3 and 4 am
Cloudy again this morning but still so humid. Yesterday’s sandwich came home with me shockingly as I just went from one appointment to the next. Today I fancy a salad so either feta or Chicken Caesar.
Call with my age uk friend this morning she is also ready to sell so we can catch up on how things are going both sides. Nothing much else in the plans apart from a high likelihood of a kip
Have a good day all

You see how that cheeky dilemma is so important at 2,3 and 4 amCould you ask your solicitor / conveyancer to do the KNC stuff now? S/he could take a photocopy and keep, I don't know if it's possible, certainly my solicitor did it for Confirmation and kept it for conveyancing and used the same copy for my recent legal services.Well done on getting the valuations in, and good luck with the neighbour. It was a bright morning here so I put a small quick wash load in the machine, now I can see the rain coming in over the sea. I've checked the forecast - again - and it will stop at about 11a.m. 🤞so I'll hang it out anyway. I've dragged the winter duvet downstairs and will take it to the launderette for a service wash. Glory days!10

Morning all. Dull and cooler today, although it still seems stuffy indoors.
Did very little yesterday except the shopping and DH watered the garden late in the evening.
We had a big salad with chicken drumsticks for lunch then neither of us really felt like any dinner so will move the proposed gammon on to another day.
Today I'm dancing/playing at a church fete close to where I grew up; in fact I was confirmed at the church, so it should be an interesting return visit. Parking is dreadful there but I have managed to reserve a spot on the approach road so hope it materialises.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone.10 -

Morning all
Bright and sunny here and set in for a nice day I think. We have had the plumber here this morning fitting a new outside tap, we have one outside the gate but everytime I water the plants I have to unlock the gate reel the hose out and then do the same in reverse, its such a faff so this will save a lot of hassle. I have ordered a new spiral hose pipe from screwfix so will go and collect that later and be good to go.
BBQ for dinner tonight we have all the family coming and DD's young man so that will be nice, I have got some minty lamb chops and a bit of brisket, I will slow cook the brisket and them finish it off on the bbq, we will have some hm coleslaw, roasted aubergine, salads and there is some salmon and prawns for the non meat eaters but who do eat fish.
Its meant to be a nice evening weather wise so it should be comfortable to sit outside.
Going to have a quick tidy round then go and get the hose then come back to start the prep for tonight. Will get the dogs out for a good walk too.
Nels my OH has just renewed his passport and the whole thing was done in about 5 weeks so not too bad xx
Have good days all xxx10 -
Hello all, we have rain ! I didn't get to sleep until the early hours because of the heat, 19 degrees at bedtime last night 😰, so I haven't long got up but at least it's much cooler, it made 28 here in the daytime. I hope it doesn't mean that summer is over and I have to put away my shorts till next year though.
Today I want to hoover through downstairs and clean the kitchen floor, I can now do that in a comfortable temperature. Nowt much else happening here except I have to look for some wrapping paper to wrap Dad's present for tomorrow, I'm sure I bought some manly paper and it's somewhere safe 🤨 I have plenty of girly stuff, xmas and birthday paper, so he may yet end up with a bit of those ! I think we're having bacon and eggs for tea and later I need to cook a turkey crown ready for tomorrow's lunch.
Nels I hope your Mum's sells quickly and it goes well.
RedRuby fingers crossed for your BBQ.
Take care all

Morning everyone and thanks for the start Gers.
I've been to FC and stayed the same this week. It's TOTM and we did have DMum's birthday, so to be expected I guess. Would like a loss next week. We are off to an open air gig later and will be at the mercy of the food/drink there as not allowed to take anything in except 1 x 500ml bottle of sealed soft drink. BFF and her DH are coming to the gig and will stay over so I've to clean the bathrooms and get DD's bedroom aired and tidied for them.
Good news on the house front Nels and hopefully the wild card will come through for you. My passport took 3 weeks (in April) which was much quicker than I expected. Did it online.
Have a good day everyone,

Morning folks and thanks for starting GERS. I'm late to the party today but I caught the 8.30 bus down into town as there were odd bits I needed. Straight back up again on the next bus. I am wondering how long we will hang on to our bus service as it's really not well used at all. Three of us (with passes) going down and just me (with pass) coming back up so it's running at a loss to start with. I'd be lost if it we did lose it altogether and back to a reduced service would be better than nothing.
It's a pleasant day after the heat of yesterday but a drop from 26 deg to 16 deg this morning was a shock to the system! It's been so lovely to sit in the garden reading the last 3 afternoons. I only watered the pots on Thursday and already they are looking dry so, with no rain forecast, I am going to have to do them again later. I bet my water bill will be up a bit this time as I seem to have used the hose quite a bit recently.
An sm delivery due this afternoon. Mostly fruit and dairy, some frozen veg (as it's handy to have in) and a restock of ice creams. Oh and 2 packs of smoked haddock as I am down to my last fillet. That's really creeping up in price but I do enjoy it!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Good afternoon, some rain this morning, but not heavy as forecast yet. Caught the bus into town as I was/am feeling a bit feeble, but walked home (downhill) which was nice as I saw 2 sets of neighbours on the way and had a good chat with each one.
A quiet day planned, may try and make some lists, we have a busy week ahead and the caravan somehow needs to be completely re-equipped after cutting short our last jaunt and emptying everything out.
Take care all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)7
