I love my old ipod with all my favourite songs on it. 
However, I cannot download tunes anymore from iTunes as it is out of date now.
What is there that would be a replacement and could I transfer my tunes from the ipod onto it.

Its not easy to transfer from an iPod. Its generally assumed you will have a backup of the music files somewhere.

What do you mean that iTunes won't download tunes? As in you can't buy from the iTunes store or you csn't sync to the iPod?

If you really wish to stick with the iPod then there are alternative softwares that will allow this. Not necessarily free but they'll work.

I forget what I've used in the past but looking at the software on my PC that may work, I have iMazing, Sharepod & Easeus.
