Accidental phone call refund help

Hello,

I recently bought a new phone and I received a missed phone call yesterday. They left a voicemail message, which I listened to but for some reason the voicemail notification still keeps popping up. I tried to get rid of the notification just now but I accidentally ended up dialling voicemail and as a result I have been charged 35p for the 3 second accidental call. I know it's only 35p but would I be entitled to a refund for the call as it was made in error?. I am with EE if that helps.

The EE call centre people are very helpful.  You could try calling them on one of their free lines to discuss.  Maybe as a "how can I make sure I don't do this again?" and then perhaps they'll volunteer to refund.  But it may take a long time to get through so I'm not sure how productive it would be - unless you're worried about repeating this.

you can also ask EE to turn off voicemail. No point in having it on if you are not going to use it.

If you could just claim a call was an accident and be entitled to a refund then almost every call to a 09 premium rate number would subsequently be reported as a butt dial etc.

At the end of the day you can speak to them and if you are a long standing company they may refund 35p rather than spend £3 on agents salary arguing with you but it'd be 100% goodwill not an entitlement.
