Mobile Phone Shop Contract

I had an out of date 3 mobile phone contract and went in to my local 3 store and upgraded to a new deal. When I got home, I noticed that I had been tied in to a really bad 24 month contract instead of a rolling one as I had before. I didn't read all of the stuff that I signed for in the store as I felt that I had a cooling off period of 14 days but when I rang the 3 website to try and cancel, they said that I could only do this back in the store and that they would then charge me for the remaining time left on the contract. I haven't been back to the shop yet but wanted to find out how I stand with this before doing so?

You stand subject to their cancellation terms. There's no cooling off period for an in-store purchase.0

This doesn't make any sense, as shops don't just give out new mobile phones for free!tolshar said:I had an out of date 3 mobile phone contract and went in to my local 3 store and upgraded to a new deal. A new phone costs money, so is usually covered by either a lump sum up front, or a fixed contract.
I'm assuming that you didn't pay a lump sum up front for this phone? The surely the monthly amount you are paying covers the cost of the new phone?
Which phone did you get and how much are you paying?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
The OP may be using his existing phone. He says he went for new contract so could be sim only.0
